I’m often asked about my beauty routine.
I’m never in one spot long enough to stick to anything that can truly be called a routine,
but a few favorites help me feel like myself in any time zone.
ALWAYS IN MY BAG
Lovely balm: used on the tips of Domino’s thirsty summer-sunned hair, her brothers’ salty lips, Top Banana’s elbow’s, or my own cuticles. this balm made from organic beeswax can’t be left behind.
FIGHTING END-OF-SUMMER SKIN
In need of oxygen – if I possible can, I will hunt down an Intraceuticals oxygen facial. It’s non-invasive and forces me to sit still for 20 odd minutes with my eyes closed and my mind free. Ok, that last bit is bollocks, my mind is never free.
BEAUTY APPOINTMENT GONE WRONG
Landing late off a long haul flight with a pulled muscle in my neck, I frantically texted my friend to see if she could find a massage therapist who might rescue me from the pain. She said it would be no problem. This was La La Land after all, anything’s possible. Waiting for me at the house was a nurse in uniform with a gigantic hypodermic needle and a drip on a stand. “Welcome. I’m going to shoot you up”, she said. Apparently, in Los Angeles vitamin B shots in your bum release spasms in your neck.
MY BEAUTY CHEAT
Taking a conference call covered in our Unexpected Beauty Perfecting Polish + Mask. Just praying no one was expecting it to be a video call.
WHAT I DO TO UNWIND
Many of my waking hours are either spent begging to be let on a flight that has already closed it’s doors, or sitting in an office chair. I now make sure that I bock off an hour into my daily calendar to get up, out and running off the cobwebs. Anyone who saw this weekend’s Insta Story will know just how big those can be. Did you see the size of that Sunday morning spider?
