My dad was brilliant, tricky, but brilliant. I think most interior decorators and designers have referenced his work in some way since his heyday in the late 1960s and 1970s.
He shook up the world of design, flouting convention with his vibrating colors and conviction. Testament to his unique vision, his work is as relevant today as it was back then.
But because so many from the creative world have borrowed from that legacy I decided to launch my brand without a clashing color combo, or geometric pattern in sight.
I launched with a golden beetle.
And then it felt odd, almost as if I was belligerently ignoring all that history, so rather timidly I pieced my initials together, into a David Hicks-esque repeat pattern…….
