JUST THE START

The little island went under a 24hr-curfew. We can see the beach, we just can’t go to the beach. Bond is very confused, as every day we run together on that beach, now we will just stare at it together.

But the view is good, the sun shines and a breeze blows. We are so lucky. Until someone gets seriously sick and then it gets tricky. This country is not set up to deal with a pandemic. Which is why with only a few confirmed cases of Corona they have imposed such aggressive action. And rightly so.

But why are we not in England with more access to medical help? Because this is our home and because Wesley would not have been able to come with us and there was no way we were leaving a child behind. No way in hell.

But it’s been strange to not hear the church bells ring or the sound of golf carts putting around the island or the noise of a distant airplane arriving or leaving – All of those things have been restricted.

Much like the rest of the world, everything is changing daily.

But even though I am really truly blessed to live amongst swaying palm trees and beside turquoise waters, I am struggling to sleep at night. What kind of world will our children now be growing up in?

Let’s hope, in amongst all this, the earth is healing.
